Blessing In the Pressing

Grace and Peace and welcome to today's Point Of Inspiration.  There is a blessing in the pressing.

I know you've heard this countless times in church or when speaking with fellow believers about attending church services or revivals . They say let me tell you - "there is a blessing in the pressing."  And the right or spiritualese response is to say, "I know that's right!!"  But do we really know that there is a blessing for all of us who continue along the journey with a steadfast hope in Jesus? Or does it just sound good, or sound like the holy or righteous thing to say, Christian jargon.  Maybe you were tired one Sunday and didn't feel like going to church, or just so depressed or fed up that you didn't want to be in the presence of others, or maybe you were just going through HELL.

Yes some of us Born of the Fire, Holy Ghost Filled, Fire Baptized Christians are currently, or have been, going through Hell.  But in spite of your situation you dug  deep down within yourself for an extra portion of strength and made it to the back pew. The praise and worship enveloped and embraced you - took you to higher heights, brought you into the presence of the Lord.  God's glory filled your temple and the Assembly of God.  You no longer felt burdened or heavy ladened, but you felt as if you could soar like an eagle.  The preacher preached a word of hope and deliverance as if he was speaking directly to you.  After the sermon you went down to alter and gave it over to Jesus, and the saints of God and the Pastor prayed for you in the name of Jesus.

When you got up off your knees you knew in your heart, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the Lord was going to bless you see about your need. He was going to make the crooked things straight in your life.  Late in the midnight hour God was going to turn it around, and around and around. There is a blessing in the pressing.  In pressing your way to the house of the Lord, you were able to glorify God for who he is, and in return you were edified.  Once edified, you were able to hear the infallible word of God that sustains you, encourages you, corrects you, inspires you, directs and saves you.

Do not forsake the fellowship my brothers and sisters. In  Psalm 122, David said, "I was glad when they said to me, 'come let us go into the house of the Lord." A song writer went further on to say, "I came running/jumping/shouting when said unto me, come let us go into the house of the Lord."  Yes I can truly say that there is a blessing in the pressing.  When I was down and out, Jesus came and brought me out.  There is a blessing in the pressing.

Press on and get your blessing,
Sis. Stef
