Forget Not His Benefits

Grace and Peace and Welcome to Today's Point of Inspiration Forget Not His Benefits Gen 50:20

Bless the Lord  and forget not any of his benefits! He is a good God!  I having been talking with several people who have experienced some pain and hurt in their lives.  They ask with tears in their eyes how do we get over the pain. And I struggle answering them, because I too had and still do  at times struggle with going through the pain of my past.  Memories bombard me daily of past hurts.  I ask myself why did I have to endure. Why did I have to go through? God always answered me out of his holy infallible Word.  The earth is the Lord's and the fullnes there of.  He is God. May his will be done. I told the Lord, "Not my will, but thine will. Have your way Lord."

Joseph said in the 50th chapter of Genesis to his brothers, "you thought evil against me, but God meant it unto  my good, to bring it to pass, as it this day." This was after he was sold into slavery by his own brothers. After being falsely accused of rape, thrown into prison and forgotten about for over a period of time.  Then he was remembered by pharoh, pardoned, and given a position of leadership in a foreign land.

If all these horrible things didn't happen to him, he would never have met pharaoh to find favor with him, and he would not have been able to save his family from the famine in their land.  God will take what the enemy meant to harm and kill us and he will use it for his glory.

It was good for you to have been tried in the fire.  It was for your good to have been attacked without a cause.  It was for your good to be betrayed, neglected and abandoned.   It was for your good to be lied on and talked about.  You  may ask our God how could these things have possibly been good for me? Because they made you strong. They made you rely on God and God alone.  You sought God daily in your praise, in your prayer, for your happiness your life. You did not die, you did not succumb.  Yes you stood in the flames, but you came out without a burn or a smell of smoke on you.   Yes you were forsaken, but God took you and rocked you in His arms, cared and provided for everyone of your needs.   Yes they pointed fingers and accused you behind your back and after it was all said and done. God raised you up and delivered you.

My brothers and sisters move through the pain of your past. Don't try to get over it you will be just fooling yourself, but work through the pain of your past, and let God do what only the Master can - heal your soul. Yes these painful things happened to you.  You can't change what happened, but there is healing in your victory! Tell the devil he lost. I'm still here.  I'm still alive.  More important I haven't lost my God.    Where we are weak our God is strong.  Work through your pain by praising God for who he is.  Work through your pain by accepting what God allowed. Forgive those that harmed you and caused you pain.

We will be like Joseph our past pain and hardships will take us to a place where we can stand strong to help someone else along the way.
