A Gift For All Seasons

Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord! Welcome to the Point of Inspiration. Today's theme is "A Gift For All Seasons." As we reflect on this season of Christmas we recognize that many of us are quite stressed in the season. Stressed with meeting the crowds in the shopping malls, as we are stressed to find the perfect gift at the perfect price. Spending money that we don't have, finding ourselves as one commercial states it, "up to our eyeballs in debt." But we should take the time and privilege to reflect on the reason for the season, at least what we as a people say is the reason for the season.

God gave a Perfect Gift to Pay the Perfect Price to redeem a Perfecting People to a Perfect Place. John 3:16 states that "God so loved the world that he GAVE His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." God gave the gift for all seasons. That gift was Love, and as an expression of God's Love, God gave His only son to reconcile us unto Godself. To fill the chasm that separated us from oneness with God. The gift for all seasons is the gift of Love that seeks out the lost, the brokenhearted, the captives and reminds them that they are not alone. It is a gift that remind us that the Love of God is with us and in us and should work through us.

"This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.  But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, 'Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.'  All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:" Matt. 1:18 -22 "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14

There are some this season who are in states of loneliness and depression. Alone because of separation, alone because of divorce, alone for reasons they don't even know about. Some of us haven't spoken to family and friends, for reasons we don't even remember anymore. The Gift of All Seasons is the gift of forgiveness. A gift that reconciles us to God and to one another, steadily building the family of God. As Christ has given us the gift of Love, let us return that Love through our worship, honor, and adoration of God. Let us reflect that adoration as we Love one another, as we forgive one another, as we reconcile broken relationships to the honor and glory of God. We can then join our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ - the One who saves and redeems, the One who is ever with us, as we share the Gift for All Seasons!

Joyous Christ Mass to you! One that enlarges the Masses for Christ!
