Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord! Welcome to the Point of Inspiration. We trust that you had a blessed Christ Mass Celebration. Today's theme is, "A Secret Place." We now pick-up where yesterday's theme, "A Gift For All Seasons," left off. We acknoledged that the gift for all seasons is none other than the Love that God the Father extends to us through His Son Jesus the Christ that reconciles those that receive Him into right relationship with God. As reconciled children of the Most High God we now have the privilege of connection with God. One of the mediums through which we have connection with God is through prayer. Psalms 91:1 states that, "the one who dwells in the secret place of the Most High God, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." There is a place in God that we can attain that serves as shelter of God that will protect and sustain us.
As we briefly look at dimensions of prayer, we find in James 5:16 that the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much.
- Effective prayer is based on the promises of God.
- Fervent prayer is based on the character of God.
- Righteous prayer is based on our relationship with God.
Whenever Christians pray together in agreement, there is special authority. For example, Jesus gave a special promise in the Word Of God for two believers joining together in prayer:
âAgain I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching
anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.â Matthew 18:19 (KJV)
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
10 If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
If there is tremendous power when two people pray, what about the whole assembly of Godâs people praying in one accord? What about saints of God joining together with brothers and sisters and pulling down strongholds in the name of Jesus the Christ! Acts 4:24-31 tells us: â...they raised their voices together in prayer to God. âSovereign Lord,â they said, â...consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.â After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.â
There is power in prayer my brothers and sisters. And I encourage you to tap into the power that God provides us, as we pray to God for one another and ourselves. As we continue in giving the gift for all seasons in love. Let us remember our God who promises that when we give our alms in secret, God will reward us openly.
May the Lord God bless you ⦠REAL GOOD!
