Stand

Grace and Peace and Welcome to the Point of Inspiration   Stand!  Stand ye still and see the salvation of the Lord.

What does it mean when we say or hear stand and see the Glory of the Lord?  Yes it sounds good and somewhat encouraging, but what does it really mean? First we have to know what it means to stand.  Webster's dictionary says to stand is to support oneself on the feet in an erect position. We find that when we arise from our beds in the morning that we place our feet on the floor and we begin to place our body weight on our feet and now we are standing.  Many of us saints envision ourselves standing while we are surrounded by armies and we are just standing tall. Or we see ourselves standing in the midst of our troubles standing like nobody can do us any harm - "My God's got this."

As King Jehoshaphat and Judah stood as the enemy was converging on them from all sides.  They stood,  fasted, prayed and praised God for the victory and he gave it to them not by their own hands but his so that they would know that it was him and him alone that gave them the victory.  You can find this powerful and awesome story how our God defeated  King Jehoshaphat's enemies in 2 Chronicles 20 chapter.

We to need to know how to stand lest we fall or be taken captive by the enemy.  Do you know you do not need physical legs or feet to stand for God.   You are standing erect on his word.  You stand erect in God by believing and doing his word.  I'll say that again by believing and doing his will.  Our faith must be put into action by our doing. You stand to see his Glory when you realize that you need a savior and you can not save yourself.  You can't win this battle without God on your side.    You stand on his word when you believe that nothing is impossible for your God.  That you have many limitations, but the God you serve has none.

Come let us stand - believing that God will give us the victory in those things concerning us as long as we stand for him.   Let us stand in our homes, in our churches, on our jobs in our schools.  Let us stand for what is Holy - what is righteous and true.  Let us stand for male and female covenant marriages only, the restoration of broken marriages, two parent households, obedient and respectful children. Let us stand for prayer in our homes and in our schools.  Let us stand for commitment and perseverance in our families and in our ministries. Let us stand for and in Love, peace, joy and forgiveness with one another.  Keep on standing for what you know is in line with the word and the will of God.  If we stand he will fight our enemies and battles on our behalf.  They will be utterly destroyed.

Keep on Standing until you see the glory of the Lord.
